we're hitting the road this week and will be closed from july 15th - july 22nd.

we will be back open on july 23rd with shorter hours as well be folking it up at Calgary Folk Music Festival. our hours from july 23rd - 26th will be 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm 💛.

a little bit more about Keri and Jaymie, the folks behind proud wednesday 💛.

"We are Keri and Jaymie, the faces behind Proud Wednesday Beading Co. We are sisters living in Mohkinstsis of Treaty 7 Territory and Amiskwaciy of Treaty 6 Territory. We are of Mixed, Metis, Denesuline and Dogrib descent and are members of the Fond Du Lac First Nation in Treaty 8 Territory. Our work is primarily inspired by our Great Granny Tralnberg (ne Mercredi) and her incredible beadwork we wore and now treasure. The name Proud Wednesday is a play on our Paternal name lineage of Lafferty: which could translate to ‘La Fierte’ meaning pride and Mercredi: which translates to Wednesday. We are forever practicing and learning this craft. Maarsii, Mahsi Cho, and Thank you so much for being here".

truly, the most special part of having a vintage shop is being out on the road meeting the folks who owned the pieces originally and them becoming some of our closest friends ✨

for those of you who have been with us since day one, y'all already know the lore of mr. eric wade and how he believed in our shop before we truly believed that it could be something more than a dream and a couple of racks of vintage. he took a chance on us with his family's cherished western & american work wear collection from the 1930s onwards and entrusted us with pieces we may never ever see again ✨

this trip out we're bringing back some special pieces as long as some portraits of the folks who helped our shop become what it is today and into the future ✨

truly the luckiest and thanks to y'all for letting us do what we do everyday. can't wait to see you all in the shop soon so we can share more of eric's story and more from the pieces we're bringing back this trip 💛
