Indian Relay Racing has had a long history with the Calgary Stampede. The event was officially incorporated into the Calgary Stampede in 2017, but from the beginning, Elders from each Nation pushed to have the sport included at The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. Stampede Official Brent Dodginghorse explains the history of Indian Relay Racing at Calgary Stampede. The 13-part documentary series Horse Warriors follows some of the top teams on the Indian Relay circuit as they compete in events across Turtle Island, including the Calgary Stampede. Watch this space all for Horse Warriors Stampede highlights. Season 2 of the series premieres on APTN in Fall 2025.
