Maintenance in the Community of Legacy - Who takes care of what areas in the community.
It has come to our attention that it would be helpful to explain the current maintenance responsibilities of all those involved in making Legacy Beautiful.
What are the residents obligations?
• As a resident, you are responsible for caring for
and maintaining your lawn and property. This
includes all adjacent areas such as
boulevards, sidewalks, walkways, lanes and to
the centre of the back alley.
What is the City of Calgary responsible for?
Trees in the community of Legacy are the responsibility of the City of Calgary as well as most green spaces, parks, roads, lights and traffic lights, snow removal.
What does the Legacy Residents Association maintain?
Maintenance of the land surrounding the entry gates and clock tower.
Some Boulevards entering the community coming in from 210th. (210th is the responsibility of the City of Calgary with exception of the land surrounding the entry gates) . Legacy Gate, Legacy Blvd (between 210 and Legacy Main street) Legacy Village Link as they are the entry points into the community.
4 Planters set up on a couple of the Boulevards
Set up and maintenance of the fountains in the ponds
Set up and maintenance of the Christmas lights
Set up and maintenance of the Skating rinks
Management of the Community Garden
Stampede Breakfast
Coordination of Story time in the park.
What is the Developer currently doing?
The Developer takes care of part of the community until it hands it over to the City of Calgary. At that time the mowing of the grass in front of homes becomes by bylaw the responsibility of each property owner. The Developer is also maintaining areas where there is signage.

We hope to see you all at our Annual Stampede Breakfast Saturday July 4th from 9-11:00 am. See less
