Using the right soil is essential for plant health! πΏ For succulents and cacti, a well-draining soil mix is crucial to prevent root rot. π΅ Tropical plants like Pothos and Peace Lilies thrive in a customized soil blend that retains some moisture while still allowing airflow. πΊ Aroids and ferns enjoy a two-up layout β use a rich, loamy mix combined with organic matter for perfect moisture retention. πͺ΄ Tailoring your soil to each plantβs needs ensures they flourish and brings joy to your space! β¨

π If Your plant is overwatered
STEP 1: STOP WATERING This sounds obvious but it's the hardest part
STEP 2: CHECK THE ROOTS Remove the plant from its pot. Healthy roots = white/tan and firm. Rotted roots = brown/black and mushy
STEP 3: PRUNE THE ROT Using clean scissors, cut away all mushy, dark roots
STEP 4: LET IT DRY Leave the plant out of its pot so roots can air out
STEP 5: REPOT IN FRESH, DRY SOIL. Water sparingly for the next 2β3 weeks
Have you ever saved a plant from root rot? Tell us in the comments π

Plant Mist ritual πΏβ¨
Today we're misting the collection. There's something deeply calming about tending your plants on a bright morning β We call this "plant therapy."
A few misting tips:
π§ Mist in the morning so leaves dry before nightfall (prevents fungal issues)
π§ Don't mist succulents, cacti, or snake plants β they hate humidity
π§ Tropical plants LOVE it β pothos, peace lilies, ferns, calatheas
π§ Use room temperature water to avoid shocking leaves
What does your plant ritual look like? π±

ππΏ Living in Canada means our plants face some challenges β low light, dry heating air, and cold windows. Here are 5 indoor plants that genuinely THRIVE through our winters:
04/30/2026
βοΈ Is your plant trying to tell you it's in the wrong spot?
Look for these signs:
1. π± LEANING toward the window β It's reaching for more light
2. π Long, stretched-out stems with big gaps between leaves β Etiolation (light starvation)
3. π Small new leaves β New growth comes out tiny when light is low
4. π§οΈ Soil stays wet for weeks β Less light = less growth = less water use = root rot risk
5. πΏ Fading colour β Variegated plants lose their patterns in low light
The fix: Move your plant 2β3 feet closer to the window, or rotate it 90Β° every week so all sides get even light.
Still not enough? A basic grow light can transform a struggling plant π±

πΏ Pothos is the most forgiving plant on earth. But here's what separates a sad pothos from a THRIVING one:
π‘ LIGHT: Bright indirect is best but it tolerates low light. Avoid direct sun β leaves will bleach.
π§ WATER: Let the top inch dry before watering. Brown tips = too dry. Yellow leaves = too wet.
βοΈ PROPAGATE: Snip just below a node (the little brown bump), pop in water β roots appear in 2 weeks!
π± FEED: A half-strength liquid fertiliser once a month in spring and summer works wonders.
πΊ POT TIP: Pothos loves a pot that drains well. Use a nursery pot inside one of our beautiful cachepots β best of both worlds!
