IKAW ANG NAGBABAYAD NG PREMIUM NG LIFE INSURANCE...

PERO HINDI MO PALA BASTA-BASTA MAPAPALITAN ANG BENEFICIARY.

May gusto kang tanggalin na beneficiary ng life insurance policy mo?

Ang first thought mo is:

“Ako naman ang nagbabayad ng premium. Bakit hindi ko siya basta mapalitan?”

Then you discovered one very important word on the policy:

IRREVOCABLE
BENEFICIARY!

Kapag ang beneficiary ay revocable, generally puwedeng palitan ng policyowner without getting that beneficiary's permission.

Pero kapag irrevocable, ibang usapan.

Generally, the policyowner cannot simply remove or change that beneficiary while the designation remains in effect. The irrevocable beneficiary's consent may be required, and certain other changes to the policy can also be restricted.

So kahit ikaw pa ang nagbabayad ng premium, paying the premium does not automatically give you the right to remove an irrevocable beneficiary.

And when divorce, separation, children, or support obligations are involved, it becomes even more important to review the actual policy documents and legal arrangements. The treatment can also depend on provincial law and the circumstances of the divorce.

This is why beneficiary designation should never be treated like a small checkbox on an insurance application.

Before you write someone's name, understand these two words:

REVOCABLE or IRREVOCABLE.

Because the person you choose today could affect the control you have over that policy years from now.

Life changes. Relationships change. Families change.

Make sure you understand what you're signing before you make a beneficiary irrevocable.

📩 DM me “BENEFICIARY” if you want to review what your beneficiary designation actually means.

Disclaimer: General financial education only. Beneficiary rights and the effect of divorce or separation can vary by province, policy wording, court orders, and individual circumstances. Legal advice may be appropriate.

🎄 SEPTEMBER NA! this is it... BER MONTHS ARE OFFICIALLY HERE! 🇵🇭🇨🇦

🎶 It’s officially Jose Mari Chan season! 😄🎄

Christmas countdown starts NOW! 🇵🇭❤️🇨🇦

For Filipino families here in Canada, especially newcomers, September is actually the perfect time to start preparing financially for the last four months of the year.

Huwag nating hintayin ang December bago tayo mag-budget.

Here are 5 things you can start doing this September:

🎁 1. Set your Christmas budget early.
Gifts, parties, food, travel, and celebrations can quickly add up.

🇵🇭 2. Isama sa budget ang PADALA.
For many Filipinos abroad, Christmas also means sending money, gifts, or balikbayan boxes to our loved ones back home.

Napakagandang tradition—but plan for it.

As much as possible, huwag kunin sa emergency fund at huwag umutang para lamang may maipadala.

💰 3. Protect your emergency fund.
Christmas is expected every year, so holiday expenses are planned expenses—not emergencies.

Start building a separate Christmas or holiday fund, kahit paunti-unti.

💳 4. Be careful with your credit card.
Madaling sabihin:

“Swipe muna. Bayaran na lang next year.”

Pero kapag hindi nabayaran nang buo, interest can turn a simple Christmas purchase into a much more expensive one.

Spend based on what you can realistically afford—not just on your available credit limit.

📅 5. Don’t forget January.
After Christmas and New Year, tuloy pa rin ang:

🏠 Rent or mortgage
💡 Utilities
🛒 Groceries
🚗 Transportation
🛡️ Insurance
💳 Credit card bills

Enjoy the holidays—but prepare for the month after them too.

❤️ The BER months should be a season of JOY, not a season of FINANCIAL PRESSURE.

Sometimes, one of the greatest gifts we can give our family is entering the New Year with less debt, some savings, peace of mind, and a financial plan.

So habang nagsisimula na ulit ang Christmas songs…

🎄 Start your Christmas planning—and your money planning—early.

Happy BER months, mga kababayan! 🇵🇭🇨🇦
