Campfire bans are in effect all over

Campfire Ban Effective 12:00pm, July 2, 2021

Due to the dry conditions, hot weather, and no rain in the forecast the Township of Langley has issued a written order to ban all campfires in Edgewater Bar Campground at Derby Reach Park, as well as the campground at Brae Island Regional Park, and Eagle Wynd RV Park effective at 12:00pm on July 2, 2021.

The use of outdoor stoves or other portable campfire apparatus such as propane fire pits with a Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or Underwriter Laboratories of Canada (ULC) rating is permitted.

Congratulations to the 2020 Fire Fighter of the year, Scott McEachern! Scott has been an exemplary for over nine years performing his duties with dedication and compassion. Throughout his career, Scott has been a leader in our programs volunteering countless off-duty hours to a variety of different programs. He has been responsible for managing our 'Lifeline for Seniors' program where at risk seniors in our community are provided the opportunity to remain safe and independent through the support of a Phillips Lifeline installed at their home by off-duty Fire Fighters. Scott has also taken a leading role in organizing Fire Fighter participation in the , which supports the BC Lung Association, as well as the Bob Rosenlund Memorial Soccer Match. Thank you Fire Fighter McEachern for all your hard work giving back to the community - congratulations on this well deserved achievement!
