Happy holidays! W.A.C. Bennett Library (SFU Burnaby), Belzberg Library (SFU Vancouver), and Fraser Library (SFU Surrey), along with the rest of the University, will be closed for winter break from December 25, 2017 through to January 1, 2018. All libraries reopen on January 2.

Celebrating excellence in undergraduate academic writing!

All eligible undergraduates are invited to submit a paper to the inaugural Student Learning Commons writing contest.

Winning entries will be awarded a cash prize. All winners and “honourable mention” papers will be published on the SLC web site as examples of strong writing across the disciplines.

To be eligible, you must have completed 30-89 units by the start of the Fall term and the word count requirement is 1250-2500 words. More details here:

Help your students save some money! If you have considered using open educational resources (OER) in your courses, now is the time to act. Anyone with a full-time faculty appointment at SFU can apply for an OER Grant of up to $5,000 to find, customize and integrate OER materials into a course.
