Day 2 at Baja SAE Oregon update:

Capturing the final week before Oregon competition, full speed ahead 💨

It’s been all hands on deck these past few weeks, with extra long, late night sessions in the shop.

With new members joining the team each year, passing down knowledge and experience is essential. Hands-on testing sessions like this help bridge that gap.

This session focused on understanding how the CVT system works in real conditions and brainstorming how those insights can be applied to the future MK5 to improve performance. Learning from the current car to build a better one. 🔧🏁

Member Highlight – Design Team 🔧🏁

Matthew Wade and Antonio Maselli are two of the key members of the BCIT Racing design team. They have been putting in long hours to meet their design responsibilities while always being willing to support and help other team members when needed.

Most recently, Matthew has been working on the friction clutch design, while Antonio has been focusing on the transfer case. Their dedication and teamwork play an important role in moving the vehicle design forward and preparing the team for competition. ⚙️🚗

Nicola Parente and Sophia Wan have been working hard behind the scenes to represent the club and keep everything running smoothly. Both have taken on major responsibilities in their roles and have been key in showcasing the work and achievements of the team.

Nicola has been working since the beginning of the 2025–2026 season to develop and launch the new BCIT Racing website, helping highlight the team’s projects, sponsors, and accomplishments. Sophia, the club’s graphic designer, has been creating newsletters, cover pages, and other visual content that present the team professionally and keep the community engaged.

Member Highlight – Manufacturing Team
Katie Voth and Harmon Quan have been working incredibly hard since the beginning of the year to get the frame finished. From showing up during Saturday build sessions to spending time in the shop over winter break, they’ve been consistently putting in the effort to move the build forward. Their dedication and commitment in the shop have played a huge role in the progress of the vehicle, and the team truly appreciates the work they continue to put in. 🔧🏁

BCIT Racing is always in full throttle — designing, building, and testing our car nonstop. In between all the hard work, we take one night a year to shift gears and unwind at our annual Gears & Cheers pub night. 🍻🏎️ Huge thank you to all the members who came out — it was such a fun night!
