Fresh food recovery program serving our neighbours in need in Halton and Hamilton.

A new truck! More food rescued. More lives impacted.

Food for Life is thrilled to welcome a new truck to our fleet, made possible through the incredible generosity of The RCO Foundation. This investment will help us expand our food rescue efforts, increase our capacity to collect and distribute fresh, nutritious food, and strengthen our ability to serve neighbours across Halton and Hamilton.

Every day, our trucks are the link between food that might otherwise go to waste and community members who can benefit from it. This new vehicle means more food can be rescued, more community partners can be supported, and more neighbours can access healthy food with dignity.

To The RCO Foundation, thank you for believing in our mission and helping us drive it forward. Your support will create a lasting impact in our communities for years to come.

Looking for a meaningful summer team-building opportunity?

This July and August, join Food for Life's Collaborative Kitchen Team Experience and help transform rescued produce into ready-to-use portions for seniors experiencing food insecurity in Hamilton. Teams will peel, chop, and package fresh produce while making a direct impact in the community, with the option to stay and enjoy a team lunch together afterward (provided by you).

We're grateful to the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce for featuring this volunteer opportunity on their member events and bulletin board, helping connect local businesses with meaningful ways to give back.

In partnership with Neighbour to Neighbour Centre and St. Matthew's House, this initiative is helping make fresh, healthy food more accessible for seniors across Hamilton. To learn more or book your team's session, contact [email protected].

Thank you to BurlingtonToday for sharing our summer campaign and helping raise awareness about the growing need for food support in our community.

While summer is often a season of connection and celebration, many families are facing increased financial pressures and difficult choices as the cost of living continues to rise. Food for Life is working alongside our community to help ensure neighbours have access to fresh, healthy food when they need it most.

Thanks to the generosity of a long-time supporter, all donations will be matched up to $15,000 this summer—doubling the impact of every gift and helping more families access the nourishment, dignity, and support they deserve.

Together, we can help take some of the stress out of summer.

For many of us, summer is a season of gatherings, celebrations, and making memories.

But for many neighbours in our community, summer can bring added financial pressure. Higher utility costs, children home from school, and rising grocery prices can make it harder to keep food on the table.

At Food for Life, we're helping ensure neighbours have access to fresh, healthy food throughout the summer months. Right now, every donation will be matched up to $15,000, doubling your impact and helping more families access the nourishment and support they need.

As we head into the summer season, Food for Life will be taking a short annual pause to allow our team time to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

Our offices and programming will be closed from Monday, June 29 – Friday, July 3. During this time, there will be no Food for Life programming, agency drop-offs, or pickups.

Our return schedule will be:
• Monday, July 6: FFL pickups only, no programming or agency deliveries
• Tuesday, July 7: Mountainside Market open, no other programming or deliveries
• Wednesday, July 8: Return to regular schedule

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we take this brief pause before returning refreshed and ready to continue supporting our community together.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating all the dads, father figures, and mentors who show up with strength, kindness, and care - just like the nourishing support we strive to provide every day.

At Food for Life, we believe no one should have to choose between feeding their family and meeting other basic needs.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Food for Life!
