Object Methods, in short & English, they’re functions that belong to a specific object. For example, creating a class for a car, and using the def keyword to create a drive function. That would be considered an object method. ⁣

One of the many cool things you could learn inside of our Python 8 week course is dictionaries.  ⁣⁣

A dictionary is known as a "data structure" and is generally known as a "associative array"(2D arrays covered prior to this lesson).⁣  It consists of a collection of key-value pairs. Each key-value pair maps the key to its associated value.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Example above shows, Jedi: as the key and Luke Skywalker as the value.  ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Why use a dictionary?  Well, there are many ways to store data onto our computers but as programmers we should always look for the best way.  Dictionaries are ordered, changeable and do not allow for us to have duplicate keys.⁣⁣

Good afternoon gamers! Today marks the beginning of our opening sale at Prodigy Programming. Currently, we are offering 3 different online classes all varying in skill levels & age groups. ⁣⁣

🤖Introduction to Python: Will be an 8 week course focused on learning the core fundamentals of python & creating small text based projects in our consoles. We will be learning main coding concepts such as If statements, for loops & many more! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🤖Scratch: who doesn’t love scratch? Scratch is an online program that allows us to create our own video games, as well as look at other games and projects people have created. This is an amazing learning environment for all ages & is a great step forward into the game development scene. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🤖Little Coders: Last, but not least we have our little coders, this is an 8 week program based around finding & playing educational games. Through out the 8 weeks, students will play a variety of different educational (coding related) video games & will learn the basic fundamentals of how a computer works/how our computer programs that we all want to code work. This is a great introduction program to the scratch program. ⁣⁣

Meet the teacher! My name is Mitchell Tobin & I’ve been teaching python & robotics for about a year now. I’ve realized that teaching others to learn the skill of programming is much more fulfilling and has become a passion of mine. I am currently offering three different classes. A intro to python class going over everything you need to know to begin using python in your projects, a scratch class for my little gamers & a lil coders class based on playing computer games with coding to help us learn the basics of programming (while keeping it fun of course!)⁣
