Do you feel a little safer when you put your web browser in incognito mode? It does help but you are still far from full privacy and anonymity.

Incognito mode erases cookies and tracking data after you close the window, but it doesn’t stop the websites or even your ISP from knowing what you’re doing.

Your browsers have a unique “fingerprint” that doesn’t have anything to do with files or info (cookies) placed by the site. The “fingerprint is more like revealing the DNA of your browser.
Sites can and do use that.

Even if you use a VPN in incognito mode, you can’t mask it all.

Did you know that regularly changing your passwords is one of the simplest ways to keep your accounts safe from cyber threats? Here are some reasons why changing your password regularly can help keep you safe!

1. Protect Against Data Breaches
Even if you have strong, unique passwords, websites and services you use can suffer data breaches. If your credentials are leaked, changing your password regularly limits how long an attacker can use them.

2. Reduce Risk of Undetected Compromise
Hackers often remain hidden inside accounts for months before being noticed. By changing your password on a fixed schedule, you cut off access even if you don’t yet realize your account was compromised.

3. Mitigate the Impact of Password Sharing
If you’ve ever shared your password (even temporarily) with a colleague, friend, or family member, you can’t be 100% sure it hasn’t been reused or stored insecurely. Regular changes reclaim control.

4. Stay Ahead of Credential Stuffing Attacks
Cyber criminals often try old, stolen passwords across many sites. Updating your password twice a year reduces the chance that an old password works in a future attack.

5. Good Cybersecurity Hygiene
Just like updating your software or changing smoke alarm batteries, routine password changes are a proactive step. They help build a security-first mindset and make you less dependent on reacting after a breach.
