Hummingbird Community Garden
Hummingbird Garden is the largest community garden in Brandon. At that time, there were 14 gardeners and 14 plots.
In 2007, Healthy Brandon identified community gardening as a key way to reduce rates of chronic disease. Hummingbird Garden was created via a partnership with Samaritan House, as part of chronic disease prevention by providing low impact beneficial exercise. Today, Hummingbird Garden is a vibrant multi cultural gardening community containing over 400 plots, 18 of which are raised beds.
