Some slick 'axis powers' coupes in the shop this week for minor repairs.

This 1983 Camaro Z28 came to us in pretty rough shape, the fiberglass hood was broken in several places, various dents and broken parts, faded paint, minor rust, and an interior destroyed by mice. Fully stripped & disinfected, new carpets, door seals, belt mouldings, t-top seals, windshield and many other bits - along with a stunning tri-tone metallic paint job bring this unique car back to its former glory.

Hello Everyone! We haven't posted much this winter - we have been hard at work installing a brand new GFS paint booth to better serve our Westman community. A special thanks goes out to the numerous crews of contractors who have helped us get this booth erected. Manitoba Hydro, D.T Roofing Ltd., East Side Ventilation, Global Mechanical, Bison Fire Protection, Wheat City Electric, Cat Compact Equipment, Color Compass Corp, J.J. Electric, Crown Pipeline and I'm sure there's probably someone I've forgotten too.

While the booth is not fully operational just yet, we are opening our doors at 112 Industrial Drive to the public to come by and have a look at our new shop and paint booth, meet the staff and answer questions about the work we do here at Crusty Customs!

It's been awhile since we posted, so how about a Photo Dump!? This 1958 Impala came to us wearing a faded black paint job from several decades ago that was showing its age, plus the various dings and dents from over the years. The rear wheel arches had been redone at some point, but their dimensions were not correct to fit the OE-style skirts into the opening.

I can't seem to find my initial or progress pics at the moment, so all we have are the final product - but Wow. After cutting out and reconstructing the quarter panel wheel arches, we smoothed out the body and gave her a fresh coat of jet black everywhere, which absolutely POPS against all the old school 1950's chrome. We also resprayed the rear parcel shelf in its original sunset red while the glass was out and got that looking tip top. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Gorgeous!

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Jamie Hertzog, former owner at Assiniboine Collision. Jamie was one of the first shop owners in Brandon to start sending us MPI hail work. When I was just getting my feet under me, Jamie was there with a helping hand to lift me up and encouraging words to lift my spirits. I just chatted with him a couple of weeks ago about the new shop and was looking forward to showing it to him. Rest easy friend. You will be missed. We at Crusty Customs send our sincere condolences to Jamie's loved ones in this difficult time. 🧡
