Your coach can teach you. Push you. Challenge you. Hold you accountable.
But they can’t want it more than you do.
If competing is your goal, the work has to become your responsibility.
Show up when you’re tired.
Train when nobody’s checking.
Ask questions. Fix your mistakes. Do it again.
A good coach will meet you halfway.
But you still have to walk your half. 🥋
I teach my kids to lie. 🤥
Not to get out of trouble.
Not to avoid responsibility.
But because not everyone asking them a question deserves an honest answer.
Raise honest kids.
But give them some street smarts too.
Teach them to recognize danger. Teach them to trust their gut. And teach them that their safety comes before being polite.
Save this and talk about it with your kids. 👊
