π‘π©ββοΈ Marc Miller on Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots π¨π¦
Minister Marc Miller recently announced a significant step forward for Home Care Workers in Canada! Out of the 2,750 available spots in the new Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, 150 spots are reserved for out-of-status workers. While it's not the full solution, Minister Miller emphasized the importance of this initiative in showcasing the potential of regularization.
π
Speaking on March 7 in Scarborough, he confirmed that these spots are part of the In-Canada Stream, bringing new opportunities for home care workers to stay and contribute to Canadaβs healthcare system.
π Stay tuned for more updates! Minister Miller is optimistic about expanding this program in the future.

π Can You Study in Canada on a Work Permit? π€
This is a question that has sparked a lot of debate among immigration lawyers, consultants, and applicants alike. Letβs clear up the confusion once and for all!
β
Hereβs the rule: If youβre a foreign national with a work permit in Canada, you can study without a study permit under certain conditions:
Your course or program lasts six months or less.
You complete it within your authorized stay period in Canada.
π‘ Does R188(1)(c) provide an exception? Yes! This provision suggests that certain professional certifications lasting less than six months may not require a study permit, as long as theyβre completed within your authorized stay.
π Important note: Work experience gained while studying full-time in Canada wonβt be counted toward your Canadian work experience for CRS points, even if you hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
