Prothonotary warbler from Point Pelee National Park! Put on this funny little show for us!

Not sure if they were fighting or what but it was cool to see them together with their wings out!

Well, not the closest photo but I’m happy I can call the Kirtland’s Warbler a new lifer! Plus, I’m glad it felt safe enough to pop up in the first place! Glad to see everyone keeping to the trails! So glad they’re here šŸ™ŒšŸ»

My bird thought of the day.

Seriously tho... why don’t gulls come to backyard feeders? They’re always eating garbage at parks and stealing food from people. Why don’t they come to teeders and eat seeds?

These are the questions we must ask.

Such a funny encounter šŸ˜‚ I just love how silly these guys are!

I wish it was brighter so I could show you guys better but these little guys (eventually a female showed up) are on a regimented schedule!

What a great thing to see though! So cool!

Sorry neighbours…
Probably doesn’t help that the bird feeders are where they are so my big lens is zoomed in on their house. Don’t worry tho I think they’re used to me by now šŸ˜‚

Summer festivals are one of the best parts of Ontario summers… but they can also be really rough on local wildlife if we’re not careful.

Birds like gulls, pigeons, sparrows and even crows are heavily drawn to festivals because of leftover food and overflowing garbage. The problem is that human food, plastic waste, drink lids and other litter can seriously harm them. Birds can become dependent on human food sources, get tangled in trash or accidentally ingest things they shouldn’t.

If you’re heading to a festival this summer, one of the easiest ways to help local wildlife is just making sure your garbage actually makes it into a bin (and stays there if it’s windy šŸ˜…). Small things really do make a difference.

Anyways… here’s some little moments from last year at in Barrie šŸŽ ā˜€ļøšŸ¦

Canadian summer birding is almost back and I can’t wait! 🌿🐦

Early mornings outside, muddy trails, carrying way too much camera gear, hearing birds before you can even see them… there’s genuinely nothing better. I swear winter lasts 14 years here so the second it’s warm enough to be outside again I’m gone.

Really excited for more birding trips with my friends and family, more photography and just spending more time outdoors again this summer šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

I had an absolute blast at Point Pelee this year! Thanks to everyone who let me terrorize you in front of the camera! Congrats to all the winners! Happy birding everyone!

Love when this happens šŸ˜‚
You go to e-bird to find a specific species, walk an hour with no signs of that bird anywhere, and right when you see the parking lot and you’re about to give up… BOOM! It’s right there the whole time!

To be fair, this specific walk for birds was quite fun and we saw lots of other cool birds on the way so definitely worth it!
