Spotlight Recovery

Usually I don't share stuff like this, but today is a pretty special day. I've been looking forward to the lucky 13 for well, 13 years 🤣

Drug addiction is a terrifying disease that takes people's lives every single day. It is not a choice, or a moral failing, or a lack of will power.

To that end, neither is recovery an increase of will power, or a conquering of the self. It is an understanding that you have an incurable, fatal illness. You're only chance at a better life is a daily reprieve. And if you don't work a recovery program, every single day, you will surely die alone.

I will not die alone. I will continue to work a program to save my life, and to show others that it is possible.

It gets better. It gets hard, it gets scary, and it goes in ways you'd never imagine. But it gives you a life you never thought possible. A life you actually get to show up for, and experience with other people. Without the use of drugs.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me along this journey because you're literally saving my life too, and I could not do this without you.
