Well… it’s been awhile! We are settling into our new home after our latest move and thankfully we were able to find a home that could accommodate the horses we have remaining.

As such, I am looking to offer riding lessons again!

Lessons will begin April 15 and continue for 10 weeks on most Tuesdays and Fridays.

Riders will be able to use one of our horses or bring their own (must have HCBC if bringing your own). Two to three out of the set of ten lessons will be unmounted to allow students to learn skills that are needed on the ground.

Book a private lesson for $50 per lesson or $40 per lesson when you book for the full set of 10 lessons or share a lesson with a friend, sibling, etc for $40 per rider per lesson or $35 each lesson if you book the full set of 10 lessons!

We are now located close to Little Fort, only 15 minutes from Barriere.

Spots are already filling up so, PM to book your spot right away!

Today has been a tough day around here.

We discovered Freckles had started losing his vision last year and so, he became officially retired, hanging out getting cookies and scratches. We had hoped that he would be around next summer too but, unfortunately he started going downhill. Freckles had started getting unsteady on his feet and needed help getting back up again, he had troubles seeing where he could go, and just wasn’t doing well generally. As a result, the decision was made to put him down before his health declined further and he had no quality of life left.
Freckles was a true blue unicorn. One of those horses who anyone could ride and he would do his absolute best for them. He was awesome made awesomer and often underestimated.
From getting little ones started riding to helping others gain confidence to leading out rides, Freckles could and would do it.
He enjoyed getting all the attention through kids camps and lessons as well as exploring out on the trails.
He always had at least on or two of “his girls” he hung with in the pasture and he very much knew when it was time for his mash of goodies he’s gotten the last couple years over the winter.
Freckles has been in parades, gymkhanas, and shows along with kids camps, lessons, and trail rides.
Many trees got broken because he had a very itchy belly out on trails and he was skilled at sneaking in snacks along the way.
I know there will be many, many people who will miss this boy as he had a knack for winning people over and always knew how to get cookies. RIP Freckles.

Awhile ago, we had a little pony mare who escaped her own yard, end up in our field. Her and Bella got along pretty well and the pony seemed pretty relaxed so, we made a deal to keep her.
The pony has not really been handled and really isn’t sure about people but, we were getting there. The goal was to have her trust prior to popping out that baby she was cooking away. We didn’t quite make it but, she did have an adorable buckskin filly this morning!
Here is Shimmer and her brand new baby girl.

Tons might not be happening here these days but, we had a vet day today.
Freckles and Duke were on the list for their teeth to be done. Duke is likely just a harder keeper and soft eater as his teeth were pretty good.
Freckles did need his teeth done but, they looked good for his age. It was suggested that he may need additional supplementing of soaked cubes over the winter as he is getting older but, currently he looked great.
Poor Freckles had less sedative and it hit him pretty hard. He actually fell over soon after the vet left while Duke was finishing waking up. He is okay though and has since gotten up and let me know he was awake and ready to go back with his buddies.
All of the horses were checked over and they are healthy (maybe a bit on the chubby side 😂).
The majority of their feet looked good to him and I was told with the problem feet to keep doing what I am doing.

Just thought I would give an update to the goings on here right now!

We are currently still not offering trail rides at this time. Sorry, no public kids camps this summer 😢

We are open for private riding lessons as well as able to lease horses at this time. Send us a message if you are interested in either.

We are currently full for training at this time. If you are looking to send your horse here, send me a pm and we can look at booking in once we have a couple horses head home.

Thanks everyone!

Here’s Mist who just hung out after her training session last night. I was pretty happy since she also really likes to be with the herd that were all out close to the lake.
