Now, the VHCC Redevelopment Project will bring a new multi-purpose centre to life, honoring the past and building a stronger future. An engineering condition assessment completed in the summer of 2021 disclosed end-of-life status for the current Victoria Highland Civic Centre (VHCC) [aka Baddeck Rink]. Our community keeps giving.
Today, Sandy Watling from MacLeod Lorway Insurance presented the Steering Committee with a generous $3,000 donation from Heartland Mutual Insurance in support of our new facility. Thank you Heartland and MacLeod Lorway for your community spirit and commitment to helping this project grow.
Saying goodbye to the old is how we make room for the new.
After 50 years of service, we honour the former Victoria Highland Civic Centre and the countless memories it gave our community.
Thank you to all the community members who have worked, and continue to work tirelessly to make the new Civic Centre a reality. Your dedication is shaping the next chapter of our shared story.

Over the weekend, members of the VHCC Steering Committee were honoured to receive a generous $12,000 donation from the Dave Aucoin Memorial Hockey Tournament.
A heartfelt thank you to the volunteers, the players, and the entire Aucoin/MacAskill family for making this possible. Your dedication, teamwork, and community spirit brings us one step closer to the new facility in Baddeck.
