What do glaziers do? 🪟

Glaziers are skilled tradespeople who work with glass and glass substitutes, specializing in selecting, cutting, installing, and replacing materials in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

From fitting custom shower doors and windows to installing massive glass panels on high-rise buildings, glaziers combine precision, technical skills, and attention to detail to bring architectural designs to life.

Through Construct, participants gain hands-on training and exposure to the skilled trades, learning the tools, techniques, and workplace skills needed to take the next step toward a career in the industry.

Participants are continuing their flooring training by installing plywood subfloors and moisture barriers, securing each layer in place with drills. This hands-on project is helping them develop the precision, tool handling, and installation techniques needed to create strong, durable flooring systems.

While demand for skilled tradespeople continues to grow, apprenticeship opportunities can be competitive, with a limited number of available spots.

Participants are learning the fundamentals of flooring by measuring and cutting beams, preparing plywood, and building a strong base for flooring installation. This hands-on training is helping them develop accuracy, tool skills, and an understanding of the techniques used in residential construction.

Here’s a look at Cohorts 87 & 88 taking on the Marshmallow Challenge! 🍝🏗️

Participants worked in teams to build the tallest structure possible using only spaghetti and marshmallows. The challenge encouraged creativity, communication, and problem solving as they tested ideas, adapted their designs, and worked together to create stable structures.

This fun, hands-on activity highlighted the importance of teamwork, planning, and collaboration, all essential skills for success in the skilled trades.
