Atlantic Canada has a wealth of talented jazz artists and this East Coast Music Association (ECMA) category gives us a taste what’s going on. Special congrats to Joel Miller for his nomination which we collaborated on.

I like how Andrew Staniland’s music can cross musical boundaries…. Here he is nominated for ECMA Electronic Release of the Year. Congrats Andrew. Mixed and mastered with pleasure here at Stonehouse Sound.

These ECMA nominees are all incredibly creative people… realizing often complex musical ideas in their head into pitch, instrumentation, rhythm, harmony and spatialization. I have so much respect for all of them. I mixed Andrew Staniland’s project in Dolby Atmos and I’m currently in midst of post production on Amy Brandon’s next major release of her works (we are leaning, with excitement, on Atmos to help bring her music to life). Congratulations to them all!

There is so much talent in the Atlantic Canadian classical music scene. I’m very fortunate to have worked on two of these ECMA nominated projects (India Yeshé Gailey, Jennifer King piano).

Geoff Arsenault came up with a pretty killer album and I sure was thrilled to have him bring it to my studio to make.

Congrats to for her Juno WIN for classical composition of the year. Yeah!
