Most people think Reiki is spiritual theatre. 

But researchers have been quietly measuring what happens inside the body during a session, and the data keeps surprising skeptics. 

Studies show Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system, producing measurable drops in heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol. 

Heart rate variability increases, a biomarker tied to nervous system resilience, emotional regulation, and longevity. 

The vagus nerve appears to be a key pathway. When vagal tone improves, pain perception drops, inflammation lowers, and the brain receives a signal that it is safe to stop defending and start repairing. 

A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials across 212 participants found a statistically significant reduction in pain scores. 

A clinical trial in Brazil across 122 participants showed a 21% drop in anxiety after 8 sessions. 

A review of 13 placebo-controlled studies found 8 showed Reiki outperforming sham treatment. 

Science does not yet have a clean mechanistic explanation. But the data exists, and it is not small.

This was truly a special evening to be a part of. I love helping others to relax!

Thank you to everyone who attended Wednesday's Sound Bath for caregivers, and HUGE thank you to Michelle who led it! The Sound Bath started with individual selection of essential oils and each participant was given a warmed jade stone to place on their heart centre. Michelle began with the sound bowls, the ocean drum, chimes and finished with the sound bowls. Everyone then got to select Angel cards at the end for a special personal message. It was a relaxing and enjoyable evening (maybe a bit too relaxing for some!😴). We hope to host another one again in the future so if you missed it this time around, don't fret!

Me at work with my cucumber juice. I added it to water though. I share Medical Medium information all the time with tips that might resonate with some of you. This is one he suggest that seems to be working for me. I sometimes just adjust things so they work for me😊.My goal is to age as healthy as I can and I believe that takes a combination of practices including energy work.💕
