The Poppy and The Feather
One a symbol of a deep connection to the land and remembering those who were killed defending it. The other a symbol of freedom to move wherever the wind takes you, without checkpoints or borders.

By the way, not many people know that this song is the national anthem of Palestine. Like many other cultural practices, this was banned by You Know Who at some point. 🤷🏻♀️

Fadi Taiba will be serenading us with his oud at 12pm and local DJ Jahawi will be bringing the tunes!

A good start would be to download the App called “No Thanks”. It has a green icon. You can scan barcodes while you shop to see if items are on the boycott list. It takes seconds, but the effect is gigantic.

Make your own Palestinian motif earring. Everything you need is included except for the glue. You’ll need a powerful instant glue such as Gorilla Glue 🦍

Manaajel stitch is not just decorative, it is functional. It is used to join two pieces of fabrics together.
A thobe (or the Palestinian dresses you always see), is made of many pieces that are embroidered separately first, then brought together using the Manaajel stitch.
If you look closely, it is a figure 8, or infinity. It is pretty, and also very sturdy. It lasts for generations.

This has been sitting around waiting to be finished for a bit. I’m happy I got the chance to finish it this weekend.
It started out as asymmetrical at first, but I changed my mind last minute.
I make Palestinian Tattreez items to sell and send 50% to Gaza. DM me if you want one. I can customise it, I can make matching ones, I can also embroider on clothing items you give/send me.
