Sometimes, looking at art can be just what the doctor ordered. 😌

It could be a broken leg, anxiety, depression or any other illness that has you laid up and isolated; whatever the ailment, Médecins francophones du Canada (MdFC) believes a prescription for art could augment your recovery.

And now, MdFC is partnering with the Gallery in Art for Wellbeing – an online pilot program that MdFC doctors prescribe to their patients.

Guided by a facilitator, each session lasts one hour and includes topics such as “Art as a Refuge: Reconnecting with Oneself,” “Emotions in Colour: Expressing and Understanding Your Feelings,” and “Rituals and Rhythms: Art at the Heart of Everyday Life.” The objective is to create a calm experience that will encourage observations and discussions if the participants choose to engage.

I think the first two dates are sold out and a third date was added (see attached link for show dates). Jennifer Noxon has a beautiful voice and is a skilled songwriter. I remember well my heart strings being pulled when I heard her first CD. And on top of that, she creates unique, impactful artwork.
