If you love Alocasias, then you love finding corms - the gift🎁that keeps on giving🌿
I found 8-12 corms hiding in Leca in my small Alocasia Regal Shield. Which was actually grown from another corm courtesy of the 👸🌱
I took out 4 corms & soaked them over night. Peeled them gently & placed them 1/2” deep in some Fluval Stratum
I placed them into a propagation box with a heat mat underneath. Locked in that humidity.💦
First growth appeared within 3 weeks, & within 8 weeks I had vibrant healthy plants ready for the world🪴🪴
**I have never seen a corm that did not prop successfully in Fluval Stratum. Even if you have an Alocasia that appears to be dead, before you toss it, dig out the corm & put it in some stratum for a few weeks. You may still have life. 🌿

Every October we bring in about 15-20 Tropical Plants from our backyard. This year, we also closed the shop in June, & brought home almost the entire store inventory.
That said, we need to unload a few plants, we have far too many plants in our house! This is a local giveaway (Ontario). Some of the plants are too large to ship. If you win, you must be able to pick up your plants in Oshawa.

Sometimes the best support for your plant is a repot!
This Monstera Thai Constellation had fallen over one too many times, and a moss pole or stake was not going to cut it!
We went from a 5” pot to a 7” , and mixed some of our favs:
🌿Soil .earth.living.soils
🌿Forest Bark
🌿Chunky Perlite
🌿Synergy Mycorrhizae
After repotting we gave the plant a nice deep watering with Flora Series & Gro-Silic

Full sun☀️tolerant Alocasias are not easy to find! But we received these 5 plants from
We planted them in the ground, around the garden & they just took off.🚀🌿
Some have leaves as big as 16”✨💚…and growing!
A little research told us this hybrid is an EMERALD ISLE™ Alocasia:
glossy bright green leaves with ruffled edges that can be 12″ wide by 18″ long at maturity, maybe even larger when grown in the ground in warm climates with long growing seasons. Unfortunately this ain’t Florida🇨🇦😀
All elephant ears need consistent moisture, but this is even more crucial in full sun to prevent the leaves from drying out and potentially burning.
You can bring them indoors as houseplants, or let them go dormant & replant them again. We will absolutely be bringing these ones back next summer.🙌🏽🙌🏽
