Savage Racing

In the mid 1990's Munro was racing an IMCA Modified at Race City in Calgary. At age 13 his son Justin joined him at Race City in go-cart racing ( #88) . At 15 he moved on to the claimer class at Race City and Rocky Mountain Raceway near High River. By the time he was 16 he and Munro were racing the IMCA Stock Car Series at Race City, RMR, Bridge County Raceway near Lethbridge and Medicine Hat Speedway. Munro believed that Justin should hold his own on the track. That made Justin more competitive and he won his second race at Bridge County- beating his Dad. When Justin joined the military for five years Munro retired from racing. You can leave racing but racing never leaves you. In 2018 Munro was enjoying a marathon race event in Boone, Idaho. On the way home he picked up a 2014 Harris dirt mod and Savage Racing was back with Justin on the pit crew. It was a bit of a rocky start and Munro was considering retiring again, but a major win in June not only convinced him to stay, but to bring Justin back on the track ( #67) mid way through 2020. Jordan Abrahamson was brought on to crew chief for both cars. All across the years Mom, Darlene Savage has been the number one fan of Savage Racing. She never misses a race and gives her complete support. She leads the cheer squad with Justin's girlfriend, her sister and all the kids ! They are all ready to go in 2021.
