From Identity to Industry Initiative

Phase One: Documentation Drive ✨
Today, 16-year-old Zain officially got his birth certificate — a simple piece of paper that means so much. It opens the door to identity, belonging, and new opportunities. For many young people, having proper documentation is the first step toward things like education, healthcare, jobs, and a brighter future.

That’s why our Documentation Drive is so important. Every child and young person deserves to be recognized, included, and given the chance to move forward.

One document can truly change a life. 💙

We are proud to introduce the “From Identity to Industry” Project, a powerful step toward breaking barriers and opening doors for young people who deserve access, opportunity, and support.
This is where identity meets possibility, and where potential is guided into purpose. 🎥✨ Canada

On May 7th, 2026, the SCFM-CAB proudly stood alongside our partners for the official launch of the “From Identity to Industry” Project — an initiative created to help young people overcome barriers and access real opportunities for their future.

As a Child Advisory Body, we believe that young people deserve more than promises. They deserve support, guidance, opportunity, and systems that work for them. Through this project, youth will receive assistance in obtaining important documents such as birth certificates and social security registration, while also gaining access to mentorship, apprenticeship training, certification, and pathways into employment.

This project reflects the voices, concerns, and realities that young people continue to share with us every day. We are proud to play our part by advocating for youth, helping shape solutions, and ensuring that the needs of children and families remain at the center of community development.

We extend sincere appreciation to St. Ignatius High School for supporting the training component of this initiative, and to the Ministry of E-Governance for their assistance with the CRVS platform and guidance throughout Phase One.

We also thank the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council for continuing to create space for youth voices and community action.

Special thanks are extended to the Government of Canada and LEAF Canada for funding the “From Identity to Industry” Project and believing in the potential of our young people.

This is more than a project.
It is a pathway from identity to opportunity, and we are honored to be part of that journey.
