Visiting Belize? Here is some quick notes to know before you go.

People traveling to Belize often want to know about:

1. Do I Need a Visa to Visit Belize?
Most travelers, including those from the U.S., Canada, and the EU, do not need a visa for stays up to 30 days. After 30 days you can check into your closest immigration office, USD$100 for an additional 30 days

2. Is Belize Safe for Tourists?
Tourist areas like Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, and Placencia are generally safe.

3. Best Time to Visit Belize?
The dry season (November to May) is the best time for great weather and outdoor activities.

The rainy season (June to October) has fewer tourists and cheaper prices but can bring heavy rains and occasional hurricanes.

The Belize Dollar (BZD) is the official currency, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted at a fixed rate of $1 USD = $2 BZD.

Water taxis are common for traveling between islands like Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.

Car rentals are great for mainland adventures but not necessary for island stays.
