Uncle Wayne was buried today March 14th, 2026. May the ancestors welcome him home,and protect his remains,as he enters the spirit world . Uncle Wayne was the most polite, patient and one of the safest drivers that is known in SVG . The Yurumein Project thanks him for all that he did to ensure that our Garifuna sisters and brothers got to their detonations safely and on time whenever in SVG.

Growing up Garifuna #GariOnTalks #DrJeremyCayetano is a proud Garifuna woman who is a daughter, mother, general manager of Anglican Schools in Belize and a coordinator of the Yurumein Project. She hails from Dangriga Town, Belize C.A and is the daughter of the late Cannon Jerris Valentine. She is a former teacher and principal of Stann Creek Ecumenical College. She has partnered with Dr. Gwen Nunez Gonzalez and others on The Yurumein Project which aims to ensure the Garifuna Language continues for generations to come by facilitating the learning of the language through classes. The classes are held both online and in person depending on the level of the learner. Tune in on January 3rd, 2026 at 8pm EST on YouTube to hear Dr. Jeremy Cayetano’s story. Recorded November 2024. Gari-On develops creative ways to promote and learn the Garifuna Language. Activist Jerry Enriquez has filed a claim for judicial review against the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, alleging the body has failed to act on his complaint of judicial misconduct. Enriquez says he first submitted his complaint in April, accusing Justice Hondora of bias during a hearing earlier this year. According to him, the Commission’s five-month delay in responding undermines public confidence in the justice system. The case stems from Enriquez’s ongoing challenge to what he describes as unconstitutional and unequal electoral divisions. His previous appeal was struck out on procedural grounds, and he has indicated plans to take the matter to the Caribbean Court of Justice. In his statement, Enriquez called for urgent action to uphold the Constitution and restore public trust in Belize’s judicial institutions.
