Happy St. George’s Caye Day, Belize! Today, Ambassador Bauer was honored to attend the ceremony at Government House as Belize commemorates 228 years since the Battle of St. George’s Caye. We join Belizeans in celebrating this important moment in the country's history.

Ambassador Andre Bauer was honored to meet with Prime Minister John Briceño for a warm first meeting, reaffirming the ongoing collaboration between the United States and Belize. From security cooperation to economic development and shared democratic values, the United States looks forward to working alongside the Government of Belize for the benefit of both our peoples.

Today, Ambassador Bauer presented his credentials to Her Excellency Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor General of Belize, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Francis Fonseca, marking the official start of his diplomatic mission. We look forward to strengthening the enduring partnership between the United States and Belize over his tenure here, and thank Dame Tzalam and Minister Fonseca for the warm welcome.

Ambassador André Bauer and his family arrived in The Jewel today, as he prepares to take up his post as U.S. Ambassador to Belize. The Ambassador begins his service with a deep appreciation for the strong ties between the United States and Belize and a commitment to advancing our shared priorities.
