White-crowned Lapwing (Vanellus albiceps). An unmistakable monotypic species with yellow wattles. Found here along a sandy riverbank, which seems to be its preferred territory. The long carpal spurs are easily visible.

Nile Monitor (Varanus niloticus). This is Africa's longest lizard. Individuals can grow to over 240 cm or 8 ft. They are good swimmers and can both climb and run. This one has caught a large river crab. Swipe to see it take in some scents with its forked tongue.
