Sustainability starts here.

Earlier this year, Green Loop Foundation was invited by the BWgovernment, through BWParliament, to support the Pre-Budget Seminar for Members of Parliament. ๐ง๐ผ
The session brought together national leaders, including the Vice President and Minister of Finance Ndaba Gaolathe, the Speaker of the National Assembly Dithapelo Keorapetse, the Clerk of Parliament, Dr Gabriel Goitsemodimo Gosiame Malebang and support Members of Parliament.
๐ฑ We shared perspectives on what sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) mean for Botswanaโs development, and why it is important for it to be part of national planning and decision-making.
It was a meaningful opportunity to contribute to conversations shaping a more resilient future for the country ๐๐ค

Green Loop BW and Green Loop Foundation join the nation in honouring and remembering the life of Botswanaโs 3rd President, His Excellency Festus Gontebanye Mogae.
He was a visionary leader, respected economist, and principled statesman whose commitment to sustainable development, good governance, and national progress helped shape Botswanaโs growth story.
Former President Mogae will also be remembered for his courageous leadership in Botswanaโs fight against HIV/AIDS, helping build one of Africaโs most recognised public health responses and bringing hope to countless lives.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the Government and people of Botswana, and all those mourning his passing.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

On International Day of Forests ๐ฑ, Green Loop Foundation joined national efforts in Ntlhantlhe in support of the Minister of Environment Winter Mmolotsi.
This yearโs theme, โForests for Economies,โ highlights something important for Botswana: planting trees is not only about restoring nature, but also about creating opportunities for livelihoods through fruit trees, indigenous plants, and community nurseries.
A greener Botswana can also be a more resilient and economically empowered one. ๐๐ณ
๐ฟ Letโs all play our part: plant a tree, grow a nursery, or support restoration efforts in your community. One tree at a time.

๐ฑ For us at the Green Loop Foundation, culture is often spoken about as something intangible, yet in reality, it is one of the most powerful forces shaping how organisations perform and how people experience work.
Reflecting on Labour Day, we are reminded that behind every system, every service, and every outcome, there are people carrying the experience, showing up daily, often under pressures that are not always visible.
๐ก This is why culture matters. Not only as a driver of organisational results, but also as the space where people are supported, developed, and given the opportunity to grow into their full potential. When culture is intentional, it creates environments where individuals feel valued, where consistency becomes natural, and where performance is sustained, not forced.
For us, the โSโ in ESG is not an add-on; it is the foundation. It is about recognising that sustainable growth is built through people, and that investing in culture is ultimately an investment in human potential, dignity, and long-term impact. The organisations that will lead into the future are those that understand this, those that do not separate performance from people, but see them as fundamentally interconnected.

Green Loop Foundation was proud to be part of the launch of the โBridging the Gap: Governance, Oversight and Collaboration between Civil Society and Parliamentโ initiative. ๐ค
This project brings together BWParliament, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Botswana, the Botswana Centre for Public Integrity, with support from the European Union in Botswana, to strengthen how civil society and Parliament work together.
At its heart, the initiative is about creating more open, inclusive, and participatory governance, giving citizens, especially youth and underrepresented groups, a stronger voice in decision-making.
For us at Green Loop Foundation, this is part of a bigger mission: making sure sustainability, ESG, and climate issues are part of national conversations and policies. ๐
Weโre proud to be part of shaping a future where institutions and citizens work together to build a better Botswana.
๐ Our planet reflects the choices we make every day.
From what we take, to what we use, to what we restore, every action matters.
This Earth Day, under the theme โOur Power, Our Planet,โ we are reminded that real change is built through consistent, collective action. ๐ฑ
At Green Loop Foundation, we work alongside communities and organisations to turn awareness into practical, lasting impact.
The future we want is shaped by what we do today. ๐ค
