Botswana Crime Research Institute (BOCRI) is a non-governmental organization duly registered as a Trust. Its goal is to conduct research on crime and its root causes to assist in the development of evidence-based policy decisions, interventions, and programming to help curb crime in Botswana. Our current research areas include:

Today we observe the Elimination of Violence against Women under the theme “Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls”.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO 2023) worldwide, an estimated one in three women will experience abuse in her lifetime.
Its time to Unite and put an end to this pervasive issue that affects women worldwide.

SU***DE AWARENESS MONTH
According to World Health Organization (WHO 2021), every year people die, not from any disease but through taking their own lives. Su***de is a leading cause of premature death world wide. It is often a consequence of the impact of current events or circumstances of life. Every su***de is a tragedy that affects families, friends and communities which lead to long lasting effects on the people left behind.
BOCRI is participating in World Su***de Prevention Month to increase awareness about preventing su***de and su***de attempts. The month of September aims to reduce the stigma surrounding su***de discussions, prevent further su***des, and promote understanding of su***de-related challenges within governments, organizations, and communities.

BOCRI joins the International Community in commemorating International Day Against Drug Use and Illicit Trafficking. This year's theme is "People first: Stop stigma and discrimination, strengthen prevention."
Drug abuse is reported to be most rampant even in youth as young as 10years in Botswana. It's never too late to stop.
