On Saturday, 9th May, the Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) held a Women’s 15s alignment training session aimed at guiding and preparing players and coaches for the transition back to 15s rugby.

It was a productive and exciting day on the field, with coaches leading various sessions and outlining the key areas that need to be addressed as Botswana continues to rebuild and strengthen the women’s 15s game. The session also highlighted the growing global shift towards 15s rugby, with many teams around the world focusing on the format as part of long-term player and game development.

BRU is looking forward to the next training session and the rollout of women’s 15s matches within the league structure. The Union would like to commend all the players and coaches who attended and contributed towards the growth and development of women’s rugby in Botswana.

Your commitment, passion, and willingness to learn continue to play a vital role in taking the women’s game forward.

On Saturday, 9th May, the Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) successfully hosted a workshop for RBBH coaches from various centres. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the rollout plan and realign key focus areas aimed at strengthening rugby development across the different centres.

The workshop was very productive, with coaches engaging positively and leaving the meeting united in purpose and direction. A number of important resolutions were agreed upon, all geared towards improving player development and creating more opportunities for young athletes.

One of the key decisions taken by the coaches was to ensure that teams from the centres will curtain raise before most league matches, including finals. This initiative is expected to give young players valuable exposure, motivation, and match experience throughout the season.

BRU looks forward to a fruitful and impactful development season this year as all stakeholders continue working together to grow the game of rugby across Botswana.
