Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering joins the SAARC leaders in a video conference to discuss and coordinate in tackling COVID-19 outbreak in the region.
The conference is an initiative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Health and foreign ministers are also present.

20 October 2019: His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and His Royal Highness The Gyalsey departed for Japan this morning. Their Majesties will attend the Enthronement Ceremony of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan, which will take place on October 22.
Emperor Naruhito acceded to the Chrysanthemum Throne of Japan on May 1, upon the abdication of His Majesty Emperor Emeritus Akihito.
Bhutan and Japan share close ties of friendship, with diplomatic relations established in 1986. Emperor Naruhito visited Bhutan as a Prince in 1987, and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo attended the Enthronement Ceremony of his father, Emperor Akihito, in 1990.
Their Majesties last visited Japan in 2011.

Update on Narphung block:
Major roadblock at 63 km, Narphung along S/Jongkhar - Trashigang highway. Project Dantak has started clearing works. It might take the entire day or two to clear the block since road has been washed away from the base. Incessant rain is hampering the clearing works.
To avoid inconvenience and untoward incidents, please refrain from travelling along that highway.
