Spring at Punakha Dzong is a masterclass in color. Built at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, this "Palace of Great Happiness" is never more beautiful than when the Jacaranda trees are in full bloom, draping the ancient fortress in a soft violet haze.

Reconnecting with Our Circadian Rhythm – The Body’s Daily Clock.
Waking up with the gradual light of the sun, the sounds of birds and nature instead of an alarm clock, and falling asleep naturally as the evening slowly becomes dark, without needing to plug into podcasts, take supplements, or other distractions, happened so effortlessly while I was at the monastery. Life there followed a very natural rhythm: sleeping with the sun and waking with the sun.
It made me reflect on something important. As human beings, we are naturally programmed to wake up with the rhythm of light and nature. Our bodies already carry this intelligence within us. Yet in today’s digital world, many of us wake up to the sudden sharp sound of alarms, which abruptly wakes the body. That made me realize that I had been waking up alert and aware, but more in a sympathetic response rather than in a calm and natural awakening.
Being at the monastery reminded me how we are losing it and have lost the natural capacity of our natural mechanisms and the natural rhythms of our body. Our bodies know how to rest and wake naturally, but we often override this wisdom with alarms, screens, and constant stimulation.
This experience brought me closer to that innate intelligence within us, our circadian rhythm, the body’s daily clock, the natural rhythm of day and night that governs our sleep–wake cycle and overall wellbeing. It reminded me that this rhythm is something we are all born with. The only thing we need is awareness and practice to reconnect with it.
For me, this was a gentle yet powerful reminder of how beautiful life can feel when we realign with our natural rhythm. 🌅🧘🏻♀️
Thank you, for the wisdom and knowledge I continue to gain 🙏🏼🌸🙏🏼
