ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།

Om Mani Padme Hum

ཁྱབ་གདལ་ཆེན་པོའི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ།།

In the supreme abode of vast pervasiveness,

དྲག་པ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡིས།།

By the power of the Great Compassionate One,

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས།།

Through the recitation of Om Mani Padme Hum,

རྟག་ཆད་མ་སྤངས་གནས་སུ་དག།

One is purified in the state where eternalism and nihilism are not abandoned.

ལྷ་ལུང་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཞི་བར་བྱས།།

The sufferings of gods and humans are pacified.

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ།།

Therefore, it is said to be truly wondrous.

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བགྲངས།།

May all fortunate ones count (recite) the Mani Padme.

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།

Om Mani Padme Hum

བྱང་ལས་ཀྱི་རིགས་ཀྱི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ།།

In the supreme realm of the Northern Karma (Action) family,

བཅོམ་ལྡན་དོན་ཡོད་གྲུབ་པ་ཡིས།།

By the Lord Amoghasiddhi,

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས།།

By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum,"

ཕྲག་དོག་མ་སྤངས་གནས་སུ་དག།

Jealousy is purified in its own place without being abandoned.

ལྷ་མིན་ཕྲག་དོག་ཞི་བར་བྱས།།

The jealousy of the Asuras (demigods) is pacified.

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ།།

Therefore, it is said to be "wondrous."

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བགྲངས།།

May all fortunate ones recite the Mani Padme.

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།

Om Mani Padme Hum

ནུབ་པདྨ་རིགས་ཀྱི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ།།

In the supreme realm of the Western Lotus family,

བཅོམ་ལྡན་སྣང་བ་མཐའ་ཡས་ཀྱིས།།

By the Lord Amitabha (Boundless Light),

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས།།

By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum,"

འདོད་ཆགས་མ་སྤངས་གནས་སུ་དག།

Desire is purified in its own place without being abandoned.

མི་ཡི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཞི་བར་བྱས།།

The sufferings of human beings are pacified.

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ།།

Therefore, it is said to be "wondrous."

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བགྲངས།།
May all fortunate ones recite the Mani Padme.

Om Mani Padme Hum

ལྷོ་རིན་ཆེན་རིགས་ཀྱི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ༎

In the supreme southern realm of the Jewel Family,

བཅོམ་ལྡན་རིན་ཆེན་འབྱུང་ལྡན་གྱིས༎

The Blessed One, Ratnasambhava,

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པ་དྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས༎

By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum,"

ང་རྒྱལ་སེར་སྣ་རང་སར་དག༎

Purifies pride and stinginess in their own place.

ཡི་དྭགས་བཀྲེས་སྐོམ་ཞི་བར་བྱས༎

The gates to rebirth as a hungry ghost are entirely closed.

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ༎

Therefore, it is said to be truly wondrous.

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པ་དྨེ་བགྲངས༎

All fortunate ones, recite the Mani Padme!

Om Ma Ni Pe Me Hum

ཤར་རྡོ་རྗེ་རིགས་ཀྱི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ།།

In the supreme eastern realm of the Vajra family,

བཅོམ་ལྡན་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཡིས།།

The Blessed One, Vajrasattva,

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས།།

By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum,"

ཞེ་སྡང་མ་སྤངས་གནས་སུ་དག།

Purifies anger in its own place without abandoning it.

དམྱལ་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཞི་བར་བྱས།།

The sufferings of the hell realms are pacified;

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ།།

Therefore, it is said to be truly wonderful.

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བགྲངས།།

Om Mani Padme Hum

མ་ཎི་འདི་ལྟར་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ།།

How wondrous is this Mani!

ངོ་མཚར་ཇི་ལྟར་ཆེ་ཞེ་ན།།

If you ask how it is so wondrous:

དབུས་དེ་བཞིན་རིགས་ཀྱི་གནས་མཆོག་ཏུ།།

In the supreme abode of the central Tathagata family,

བཅོམ་ལྡན་རྣམ་པར་སྣང་མཛད་ཀྱིས།།

The Blessed One, Vairochana,

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་བརྗོད་པས།།

By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum,"

གཏི་མུག་མ་ལུས་གནས་སུ་དག།

Purifies all ignorance without exception

བྱོལ་སོང་བླུན་རྨོངས་ཞི་བར་བྱས།།

And pacifies the stupidity and delusions of the animal realm.

དེས་ན་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ་ཞེས་བྱ།།

Therefore, it is called "Greatly Wondrous."

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་བགྲངས།།

May all fortunate ones chant the Mani Padme!

༄༅། །ཀུན་གྱིས་མ་ཎི་བགྲང་བ་ལ་བརྩོན་དགོས་པ།
ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ། ཞེས་པ་འདི་ནི། སྲིད་ཞིའི་སྤྲོས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་པ་ཆེ་ཞིང་། དངོས་གྲུབ་མ་ལུས་འབྱུང་བའི་རྩ་བ། བྱིན་རླབས་འབགས་པའི་རིག་སྔགས་ངོ་མཚར་ཅན། སྔོན་གྱི་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་སོགས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་བགྲངས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ།

Everyone should diligently recite the Mani mantra.
This "Om Mani Padme Hum" is the great synthesis of all the manifestations of existence and peace (Samsara and Nirvana). It is the root from which all spiritual accomplishments (Siddhis) arise. It is a wondrous mantra of empowerment that was even recited by the Buddhas of the past.

ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།

Om Mani Padme Hum

སྙིང་པོ་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ་འདི།།

This essence of the six syllables

མ་ཎི་འདི་ལྟར་སྒྲིབ་པ་སྦྱོང་།།

This Mani purifies obscurations in this way.

མ་ཎི་འདི་ལྟར་ངོ་མཚར་ཆེ།།

This Mani is so wondrous in this way.

མ་ཎི་འདི་ལྟར་བྱིན་རླབས་ཆེ།།

This Mani is so great in its blessings in this way.

མ་ཎི་འདི་ལྟར་དངོས་གྲུབ་ཐོབ།།

This Mani attains spiritual accomplishments in this way.

མ་ཎི་ཡོན་ཏན་འཛད་མི་འགྱུར།།

The qualities of this Mani are inexhaustible.

སྐལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་ལ་མ་ཎི་བགྲང་བགྲངས།།

May all fortunate ones recite the Mani mantra!

ཆོས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ཚིག་ནི། ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པ་དྨེ་ཧཱུྂ། ཞེས་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྙིང་པོ་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ་ལ་འདུས་སོ།།

The words of all Dharmas (teachings) are condensed into the "Vajra Essence," the six syllables: Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ.

མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ༔
གཟུངས་སྔགས་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་མའི་གནད་དོན་ཕྱོགས་བསྡུས། །

ཨོཾ། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་སྐུའི་ཡོན་ཏན་དང།

OṂ: By relying on this, [may I] attain the enlightened qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Body.

མ། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་གསུང་གི་ཡོན་ཏན།

MA: By relying on this, [may I] attain the enlightened qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Speech.

ཎི། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།

ṆI: By relying on this, [may I] attain the enlightened qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Mind.

པད། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།

PAD: By relying on this, [may I] attain the enlightened qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Qualities (Talents/Attributes).

མེ། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་འཕྲིན་ལས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།

ME: By relying on this, [may I] attain the enlightened qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Activities.

ཧཱུྃ། ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་མཛད་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་བཅས་འཐོབ་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།།

HŪṂ: By relying on this, [may I] attain all the qualities of Avalokiteshvara's Deeds.

མ་ཎིའི་སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་དང་སེམས་བསྐྱེད།
Taking Refuge and Generating Bodhicitta through the Mani
ཨོཾ། སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
OM: I take refuge in the Buddha.
མ། ཆོས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
MA: I take refuge in the Dharma.
ཎི། དགེ་འདུན་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
NI: I take refuge in the Sangha.
པད། བླ་མ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
PAD: I take refuge in the Guru.
མེ། ཡི་དམ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
ME: I take refuge in the Yidam (Meditational Deity).
ཧཱུྃ། མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ།
HUM: I take refuge in the Dakinis.
དེ་ལྟར་ ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་ ཞེས་པ་སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་དང་སྦྱར་ནས་སྐྱབས་སུ་འགྲོ་བས་ངན་སོང་དང་འཁོར་བ་ལས་སྐྱོབ་པ་ཡང་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ་བཟླས་པ་ལས་འབྱུང་བ་ཡིན་ནོ།།
By taking refuge in this way, connecting it with "Om Mani Padme Hum," one is protected from the lower realms and cyclic existence (Samsara); this arises from the recitation of the six syllables.
