I took and posted this photo in Little Exuma exactly 10 years ago. It never grows old.

My breath gets taken away by the beauty of my homeland

While recently in New York, I had the opportunity to meet with Bahamian students attending Monroe University.

I updated them on the progress being made across our country and encouraged them to return home upon completing their studies to take advantage of the many opportunities, jobs and careers emerging in The Bahamas.

Our nation’s future depends on the talent, innovation and ambition of young Bahamians, and we look forward to welcoming them back to help build an even stronger Bahamas.

The future belongs to those who are prepared for it, and institutions like BTVI are helping to ensure more Bahamians have the skills, training, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Along with Parliamentary Secretary Keenan Johnson we heard firsthand about the institution's bold vision for the future and its goal of becoming a regional leader in technical and vocational education. What impressed me most was not just the ambition of the plans, but the progress already made in transforming BTVI into a first-choice option for school leavers, working professionals, and lifelong learners looking to sharpen their skills or pursue new careers.

I commend the Board, executive leadership, faculty, and staff for their vision, dedication, and hard work over the past four years. Their efforts are creating new pathways to opportunity and helping to build a stronger, more competitive Bahamas.

I look forward to returning ahead of the new academic year and seeing even more of the exciting work taking place at this outstanding institution.

Remarkable progress taking shape at the Onion Bowl Stadium at L.N. Coakley High School in Exuma.

As a young man, I ran on rocks here. Later, the surface was upgraded to asphalt. Today, we are taking another step forward with the installation of a modern Mondo track surface - the same standard used at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium and by athletes competing at the highest levels of international sport.

Every child, regardless of which island they call home, deserves the chance to sharpen their skills and compete on the world stage. This project brings us closer to that goal.

The future of Bahamian athletics is bright, and it is being built right here at home.

Happy Birthday to my leader, mentor and friend; Prime Minister Philip Edward Davis.

It is a privilege to serve alongside a man whose life has been dedicated to the betterment of the Bahamian people. Over the years, I have come to appreciate that every conversation with him is an opportunity to learn—from his experience, his wisdom, and his deep understanding of our nation and its people.

I remain grateful for the confidence he has placed in me and proud to work with him in service to the people of The Bahamas.

On this special day, Cecilia and I extend our warmest wishes to him for good health, happiness, and God's continued blessings in the year ahead.

Happy Birthday, Prime Minister. You can have the day off today 😁

A great weekend in Cat Island celebrating the Rake & Scrape Festival and the traditions that keep our culture alive.

It was also a pleasure to celebrate Prime Minister Philip Davis on his birthday weekend and witness his recognition with a special presentation.

Thank you, Cat Island, for another memorable homecoming.
