Just a few more

Took my time for a few days. Here’s how they looked!

Rainy start this morning.
Then it Calmed down through the afternoon and delivered this sunset.
Wind’s supposed to build back into the mid-30s, maybe 40s, for a few days, so it’s time to hunker down again.

Went and did some sight seeing today.
The tunnel to get to the dinghy dock, a really cool old church from around 1800

It’s hard to share what it really feels like out here.

The camera only shows what I can see. It can’t show the way Wayward rolls in the swell, or the smell of salt in the air, the chill just before sunrise, and the feeling of how small we really are.

I’d compare it to trying to capture the sound of silence in a heavy snowfall.

Sunsets like this help… but I’m ready to get off the boat, walk a beach, and see what treasures are hiding out there.

Good morning Georgetown! Under 25 kts at last. Feels almost suspicious… might try a trip to shore today. (Doubt it)

This was earned. After a day like today.

Turquoise with teeth today.

This wasn’t just “a little rolly”… it was relentless and no freaking joke.

The boat has been a rocking horse all day, and several boats dragged anchor in this, with one unfortunately ending up on the reef.

Wayward has proven time and time again how well she can handle weather like this, so it’s no surprise she held through the whole thing… but it’s exhausting living on high alert for hours and I’m beyond ready for a full night of real sleep.
