Supporting Black-owned businesses this Black Friday and beyond is an impactful way to build generational wealth within the Black community. Currently, the Black dollar circulates in the Black community for only about six hours, compared to 20 days in Jewish communities and 30 days in Asian communities. This quick outflow limits the ability to create sustained economic power and wealth within the Black population .

The median wealth of Black households in 2021 was $27,100, compared to $250,400 for White households, illustrating a significant wealth gap. Building generational wealth through supporting Black businesses can help reduce this disparity, as these businesses often reinvest in their communities, create jobs, and fund local initiatives .
