On the occasion of International Labour Day 2026, the Indian Community Welfare Association – ICRF Bahrain, in association with Lulu Care, Epix Cinema, and Dana Mall, and with the support of BBK, arranged a movie experience to honour the hard work and dedication of workers from various sectors.

The special Silver Screen Experience for approximately 250 workers was held on Friday, 1st May 2026 at a theatre located within Dana Mall, Sanabis.

What made this celebration truly unique was the inclusion of a diverse group of workers, including a significant number of female domestic workers, many of whom were experiencing a cinema visit for the first time. This initiative not only provided entertainment but also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of these individuals.

During the inaugural programme, ICRF General Secretary Aneesh Sreedharan welcomed the guests, including Senior Safety Engineer from the Ministry of Labour, Mr Hussain Al Hussaini, CEO of Epix Cinema, Mr Sujay Uchil, and the workers.

ICRF Chairman Adv. V. K. Thomas addressed the gathering and spoke about ICRF’s activities, and thanked the guests of honour for their presence and support.

Throughout the screening, each participant was provided with biscuits, juice, and water, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience. At the conclusion of the movie, all attendees were also given food packets, extending the gesture of appreciation beyond the cinema hall.

By providing a platform for recognition and appreciation, such initiatives not only uplift the spirits of workers but also serve as a reminder of the importance of dignity and respect in the workplace.
