Bank ABC held its H1 2026 Earnings Investors Call yesterday, highlighting the Group’s resilience and strong performance amid a challenging operating environment for the period ended 30 June 2026.
Hosted by Suresh Padmanabhan, Acting Group CFO and moderated by Fatema Yusuf, Group Head of Communications & Marketing, the session showcased the Bank’s continued progress towards its vision of becoming MENA’s International Bank of the Future. Despite market challenges, Bank ABC maintained uninterrupted operations through robust business continuity capabilities and delivered a 5% year-on-year increase in total operating income to US$697 million.
The call also highlighted prudent provisioning practices resulting in a net profit of US$111 million. The Bank’s capital, funding and liquidity position remained strong. Looking ahead, management expressed hope for a gradual improvement in business sentiment during the remainder of 2026.

Bank ABC has announced the appointment of Marek Michalski as Group Chief Auditor, effective 16 August 2026.
In this new role, Marek will lead the Group Internal Audit function, reporting to the Board Audit Committee, and will be responsible for providing independent assurance over the effectiveness of the Group's governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
Marek brings extensive international experience in internal audit and financial services, spanning investment banking, commercial banking, wealth management and asset management across the UK, Asia, and North America.
We look forward to welcoming Marek to Bank ABC and to the experience and expertise he will bring to the Group.

Karim has been a long-serving member of Bank ABC in Tunisia for over 24 years. He was an extremely kindhearted person and a valuable member of the team, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

In 2025, Bank ABC rolled out its Environmental Impact Reduction Plan 2030, delivering meaningful progress across its global operations. We achieved a 12% reduction in Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, reduced energy consumption by 6%, and increased our use of renewable energy to 29%, up from 20% in 2024.
By embedding sustainability into how we operate and strengthening visibility across our supply chain, we are taking tangible steps towards a more efficient, resilient, and low carbon future.
