Congratulations to TSgt Karvonte HUNDLEY; the winner of the Member of the Month Award (MOTM) July 2026!

TSgt Karvonte HUNDLEY is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Commander’s Support Staff for the 424th Air Base Squadron (424 ABS) at Chièvres Air Base. Responsible for managing and coordinating taskings, administrative processes, and human resource activities for sixty-four U.S. airmen on behalf of the Squadron Commander, Director of Operations, Senior Enlisted Leader, and First Sergeant, he is integral to the success of the unit’s operational mission. He also serves as the Unit’s Deployment Manager. In this role, he applied his managerial expertise to rapidly process a deployer for a higher headquarters tasking while simultaneously reintegrated another deployer who returned from a 5-month short notice tasking. Additionally, TSgt HUNDLEY led a personnel records audit, where he identified 10 deficiencies directly impacting Airman career progression. He swiftly coordinated and corrected all errors prior to the USAF’s established file freeze dates, ensuring all members remained competitive for on-time promotion consideration.

Furthermore, as a Unit Fitness Program Manager, TSgt HUNDLEY showed exceptional leadership and developed the Squadron’s new fitness policy, ensuring it complies with the USAF’s significant changes in fitness standards. He reviewed historical fitness assessment data, identified critical areas of improvement and built plans to increase unit fitness and strengthen war fighter readiness. He established an inaugural “424 ABS Run Club” where he leads bi-weekly workouts to combat cardio shortfalls for 64 members assigned to his Geographically Separated Unit. His efforts drove immediate results and positively impacted 2 Airmen at risk of failure, guiding them to passing fitness assessment scores under the new, more challenging standards.

Lastly, TSgt HUNDLEY selflessly dedicated off duty time as the logistics support lead for SHAPE’s USA Independence Day Festival. He organized timely set up and sufficient supplies for the food booths managed by the 424 ABS Booster Club and Air Force Ball planning committees. TSgt HUNDLEY’s efforts enabled a successful celebration of America’s 250th Independence Anniversary, sharing traditional American culture and cuisine with 31 other NATO nation partners. His initiative also helped raise a total of $6K for future unit morale events and the 78th United States Air Force Ball at SHAPE.

Dear Community, located under the SHAPE Tent and surroundings, the Summer Village will run from 18 July to 16 August 2026 and will offer a large inflatable play area for children throughout the summer.

* Every Sunday: 11:00–19:00

Prices:
* €8 per child, per day – daily wristband
* €60 for a 10-access pass – non-nominative

There will also be an on-site bar, while food will be available through SHAPE establishments.
