As university students and graduated doctors, we are passionate about Global Surgery and believe in safe, accessible and affordable surgical care. SPEAKER ALERT! 🚨

Dr. Thibault-Gaulthier Eggermont is an anesthesiologist at Ghent University Hospital (UZ Gent) and has gained extensive international experience through his 11 humanitarian missions with Revive. In Sub-Saharan Africa, he has been a firsthand witness of the challenges of trauma care in low-resource settings. In addition, he is active within the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime – Youth Drug Prevention Network (UNODC YDN), where he contributes to global health initiatives. He will highlight the striking differences in trauma care and address gender-related opportunities within healthcare.

!SPEAKER ALERT! 🚨

Prof. Dr. Marleen Temmerman is a gynecologist and a globally recognized expert in the health of women, children, and adolescents, with a long career in clinical care, research, and international health policy. She served as Director at the WHO for the Department of Reproductive Health and Research, where she shaped global policy and evidence-based guidelines. She later became Director of the Centre of Excellence for Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University, where she developed innovative programs for maternal and child health. Today, she also leads the International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH), active in more than twenty countries. During this lecture, she will share her unique global perspective on gender (in)equality and health outcomes.

We are proud to welcome Dr. Ahmed Al-Moghrabi as our first speaker.

Dr. Al-Moghrabi is a pioneering surgeon with a remarkable career dedicated to improving access to life-changing surgical care in LMICs. His work in global surgery, particularly in resource-limited settings, has made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Beyond his medical expertise ao burncare as Head of the Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and Burns Department, Dr. Almoghrabi’s journey is one of resilience and courage. As a survivor of the Israeli raid on Nasser Hospital, his commitment to humanitarian medical efforts has profoundly been shaped by that traumatic experience.

Next to that, he also founded the Compassionate Hearts association. Providing medical and humanitarian aid to Gaza, drinking water, dermatological and paediatric care and a school for the childeren.

Join us to hear Dr. Al-Moghrabi’s inspiring story and learn about his invaluable contributions to the field of global plastic and reconstructive surgery.
