Our solution enables a digitized hand-over of goods & liability to simplify the cargo insurance underwriting process, improve claim follow-up and settlement and give risk mitigating advice using external datasources like data from Spire Maritime. 🚢📦🛰

Smart cargo insurance — Solution for the Odyssey hackathon 2019 Improve the process of insurance by giving risk-mitigating advice and tracking liability through carrier using blockchain technology.

The first day flew by. Our teams did a lot of analysis, looking at the problem case, talking with stakeholders, creating mockups and creating the first draft of their business model canvas.

Yesterday late in the evening team “Insured” started with coding the first steps of their solution using the AIS data from Spire Global. Team “Insight” has now also started with coding their solution.

Last year we participated in the biggest blockchain hackathon (Blockchaingers). After 48 hours of hard work and maybe a bit too much red bull, we were able to introduce our smart housing solution and win the “Digital Nations Infrastructure” track.

This year the hackathon has been renamed to Odyssey( https://odyssey.org), the biggest AI & Blockchain hackathon, it is going to be bigger & better. We also see it bigger this year. That is why we are will now be participating with 2 teams and we'll bring reinforcements from Brainjar for the AI side of the hackathon.

Our first team is “Insured by TheLedger”. They will be participating in the “Future of Cargo Insurance“ track by TVM verzekeringen. We'll be making use of the data collected and provided by Spire Global satellites to create a solution for better cargo insurance.

Our second team is “Insight by TheLedger”. They are eager to work on a solution for the “Feeding the Future” track by Nutreco (https://www.nutreco.com ).

We are looking forward to a weekend full of hacking, interesting connections, sleepless nights and maybe another victory (or two) for our teams.
