Max Forage invites Balek & Bushmen

Max Forage Invites. showcases quality music acts on the verge of a breakthrough.
On our first night, we celebrate the release of the highly anticipated music project Balek. Together with the Hasselt-based newcomers Bushmen, we’re in for an evening steeped in 90s influences — from trip-hop and shoegaze to grunge and alt-rock. Max Forage joins the party with their distinctive alternative sound.

BALEK
Balek is the solo project of bassist and songwriter Lena Thijs (23) from Hasselt. The music is cinematic rock with 90s trip-hop and shoegaze influences. Her band consists of guitarist Luca Fazioli, drummer Briek Maertens, Franne Cloet on flute and synths, and Lena herself on bass, guitar, and vocals.

BUSHMEN
Bushmen is a 4-piece based in Hasselt Belgium that aims to provide you a dynamic experience with their wide array of alt rock sounds and aesthetics. A seamless blend of loud Grunge, Garage- and Classic Rock motifs paired with groovy, soulful and delicate breaks are certain to deliver a refreshing live show.

2025 came with the birth of our music project Max Forage. we got to to play numerous venues, festivals and release our debut EP ‘the country, the city’. as a band we grew closer to each other and truly fell in love with playing live together. yet, this is only the beginning.

next year we’ve got a lot of new music to share with you! as we’re also gonna take a deep dive in the studio to record some of our demos. very excited to play for you all in 2026 again!

Debut EP The Country, The City is out now 💚🖤

The four-track release explores the tension between the city and the countryside, between traditional rythms and musical experimentation. Downtempo beats carry the bass-heavy grooves - the songs are rythm driven and hypnotic.
