We are pretty excited that the first edition of The Lab will be hosted and moderated by culture journalist, nightlife expert & music director of Redbull Elektropedia Music Awards Ben Van Alboom .

Ben will talk with our guests about their work, their creative approach and their future visions. ⁠

Xander Steenbrugge is a civil engineer, passionate Machine Learning researcher, ML consultant, public speaker and YouTuber.
⁠
As he became increasingly interested in generative AI, Xander was convinced that the possibilities of this technology should reach further than only creating Deep Fakes. While on the plane to sign his contract with ML6, he programmed the first version of WRZD.ai, a software and generative AI that translates beats and melodies from music to moving images. ⁠
⁠
The main challenge that Xander sees is making the often complex technical tools accessible to a bigger group of creators. With his platform wzrd.ai, creatives can use cutting-edge technology to create audio-reactive visuals, without knowing how to code.⁠

We're excited to pick his brain on the 18th!

Give audiovisual explorer Boris Acket a room, terrain, or space to play in and he’ll envelop it into something otherworldly. Acket translates conceptual notions into immersive, multi-sensory experience. The results are vivid and often mind-boggling, giving the tried and true a fresh context or meaning. ⁠

Instead of relying on just a single discipline to satiate his own curiosity, he acts as a conductor for multiple forms: installation art, technology, live performance, sound, film and installations all of them working together to reveal a bigger picture: An endless research project into the experience of time, space, natural elements and music.⁠

Over the last two and a half years,Merel van Helsdingen has built Nxt Museum in Amsterdam from scratch. Nxt Museum is the first museum in the Netherlands dedicated to new media art.⁠

The museum focuses on art that uses modern tools to embody modern times. They believe that the tools used in artistic expression reflect the times we live in. That makes them the perfect means to understand contemporary complexities allowing us to recognize, relate and reflect on our realities.⁠
