http://www.kmplt.org Komplot is a collective of curators, founded in 2002 in Brussels.
It aims to accompany both emerging artists, as well as collectives and curators‧trice‧s in the construction of their artistic practices. In its nomadic beginnings, Komplot settled for several years at 200m from Wiels and developed an ambitious international residency program there. In 2018 Komplot moved to Anderlecht to continue its artistic, political and social engagement. The curatorial office

Two weeks ago, Open Miike #2, initiated by the , brought together a room full of conversations, questions, ideas, and unexpected encounters. Thank you to everyone who shared, listened, and joined us!
The BARN core team launched the Open Miike series in response to a lack of opportunities and physical infrastructure for Brussels’ artist-run scene to come together, take up space, and communicate about ongoing projects, challenges, news, and ideas.
The aim is simple: to give the floor to artist-run initiatives and cultural workers. Participants are invited to introduce themselves, present a project, share an idea in progress, ask for feedback, or raise questions with the community. For each edition, several contributors may also be invited in advance, especially when connected to a particular occasion or theme.
This second Brussels Artist-Run Open Miike took place as part of .brussels, a do-it-ourselves, artist-run festival celebrating Brussels’ independent art scene. From 15 May to 14 June 2026, eleven artist-run initiatives came together over four weeks and five weekends to coordinate, connect, and cross-pollinate their programmes.

This time last year, 𝘈𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 took place at , responding to a deanery meeting room on campus filled with portraits and busts depicting central figures in the institution’s history—with one exception, all men.
The project invited Sanie Irsay, Nikolay Karabinovych, Celine Aernoudt and Lázara Rosell Albear to develop site-specific artistic interventions in this room and other spaces across campus, as an opportunity to collectively question institutional, historical, infrastructural and spatial hierarchies.
𝘈𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 was documented throughout, forming a short film of the same title. Situated somewhere in between a vlog and a documentary, the film captures the behind-the-scenes of installing each intervention at KASK & Conservatorium throughout May 2025. It highlights the project as a collaborative, collective process shaped by encounters and conversations, reflecting on the notion of an ‘intervention’ as not only a singular act or final presentation, but a continuous gesture of negotiation, adaptation, and engagement.
𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟯–𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, the film will be shown at Komplot in a continuous loop and extended spatially with echoes of each artistic intervention reactivated in Komplot. During the vernissage, after the first screening of the film, there will be a collective reading of texts integral to the research project. We hope to see you there!

Last day to visit 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩! Open 14:00-18:00
𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 has been a project that spanned over a year and a half, beginning when the artists were first invited to take part in this endeavour. The project has grown through collaboration, conversation, and, above all, sensitivity and intuition.
“Natalija: There’s something really rewarding about seeing your passions recognised and echoed in someone you connect with. Altogether, it gives you more faith in the process, that this won’t only be understood, but also felt, even in something as subjective as dreams and memory. And then to find a meeting point in your interests is a beautiful thing.
[...]
Julia: I think for me it was really cool to hear you pitch your direction and the shift you envisioned. What you were describing was something I had been thinking about too, an interest I was moving toward but hadn’t yet incorporated. I had been putting it on the back burner a little bit.
It felt like confirmation that we were right to trust our gut. That makes me really happy, because the whole point of this exhibition is about feeling and being intuitive. So it comes together nicely.”

A focus on the 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 publication, designed by Emma Burel . Emma carefully considered the project and the artists intentions, translating it visually for the graphic elements of the exhibition.
Camille, Charlotte, Julia and Natalija gathered together on Friday, February 6th, at 14h in the afternoon. A month and a half before the opening of their exhibition 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩, they took an active moment in time to have a conversation about their process during the project. Flow through their thoughts, reflections and unfolding ideas as the conversation continues across the pages.
They were in the company of Emma and PC Malet, who took care of the production and scenography of the exhibition.
The beautiful publication is available at Komplot. It’s the final weekend to visit 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩—open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 14:00–18:00.

Last Sunday, 19 April, we gathered for an afternoon of artist conversations on dreaming images.
Bringing together Natalija Gucheva, Agata Ingarden, Minne Kersten, and Julia Tröscher, the event connected two exhibitions, tracing how each practice gives form to the invisible realms of the mind: its shifting landscapes of fear, desire, and imagination, in resonance with influential writings and auto-theoretical reflections.
The first conversation brought Gucheva and Ingarden into dialogue around character-building, storytelling, and f(r)iction, moderated by assistant curator Charlotte Frenay. After a short break with coffee and cake, Kersten and Tröscher continued with a discussion on the spectral—phantasmagoria, metaphor, and elusive symbols—moderated by curator Koi Persyn.
This event explored shared synergies between the exhibitions 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 curated by Camille Van Meenen at Komplot and 𝘔𝘖𝘛𝘩𝘚 curated by Koi Persyn at the Chapel of Boondael, unfolding within celador’s third space, situated between both venues.
Both 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 and 𝘔𝘖𝘛𝘩𝘚 are part of the Off Programme, and are open this week from Thursday until Sunday. Make sure to go for a visit!

“In terms of the alter ego and inhabiting another self, it has always been important for me to actualise aspects of myself that I can’t fully express in reality through another persona. Not as escapism, but as confrontation, because you’re faced with these parts of yourself more vividly than with thoughts that stay in your mind.
As a performer, this opens a different set of possibilities, especially when working with emotionality. The skin you step into becomes a tool for navigating what you’re trying to uncover within yourself. It’s beautiful, but also frightening, because you begin to reveal layers that are difficult to process. I see it as a ritual within my practice, often leading to discoveries that move into other projects.”

“[...] I think the beauty of the symbolism in dreams is that you project yourself onto beings other than yourself. In one of the references I gave you, Susan Rowland writes about symbolism and nature and psychology and how the symbols in our dreams are essentially our minds processing things through the means of embodying ourselves through nature. Our unconscious talks to us in this way, which I think makes a lot of sense and is a beautiful process we already do naturally. If you think about it, it’s just such an obvious thing because if we have the ability to dream, which is a whole other topic, of course, but in dreams this merging just happens and it’s right there, inside, in front of us, you know? Experiencing our own porousness becomes so much more tangible through dreams. It makes them interesting for me to work with, because this whole idea of ecology, what attracted me to it was this idea of a porous universe where everything flows into each other, and it really happens when we dream and it affects us in our waking life. That is why I really like to engage with my dreams, because you kind of connect these worlds, and then through that, you learn a lot about yourself and through that you learn a lot about the whole world around you as well, how it flows through you.”
