On 30th April 2026, LightCastle Partners in collaboration with Larive International, hosted the strategic dialogue, “Bridging Markets, Building Futures: Bangladesh–Netherlands Trade and Investment Dialogue.” Mr. Rik Recourt, Senior Associate – Agribusiness, Food & Forestry at FMO, shared his perspective on Bangladesh's growing appeal as an investment destination.

Mr. Recourt highlighted that Bangladesh holds strong potential for investors, particularly those offering value-added products with export capabilities, as generating export income remains a genuine national priority. He further noted that for European companies, partnering with the right local businesses and introducing the right technology can create tremendous value, both for the business itself and for the broader economy.

With participation from over 70 private sector leaders, the session explored avenues for collaboration across eight priority sectors, including agro-processing and agri-tech, maritime and port infrastructure, renewable energy and circularity, healthcare technology, light engineering, IT/ITeS, water and climate resilience, and logistics.

Speakers shared practical insights from their market entry experiences in Bangladesh, highlighting opportunities stemming from the country’s large consumer market, strategic geographic positioning, technology transfer potential, export diversification prospects, responsible sourcing practices, and private sector-driven industrial transformation.
