🎓⚡ A Historic Achievement for the Department of EEE, Leading University ⚡🎓

The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Leading University, proudly welcomed the students of the 45th Batch (Summer 2026) through a departmental orientation program held on 4 June 2026.

This semester marks a landmark achievement in the department's journey as 72 students have enrolled as of today, making it the highest student intake in the history of the Department of EEE. This remarkable milestone reflects the growing trust and confidence of students and guardians in the quality of education, academic environment, and future opportunities offered by the department.

The orientation session was inaugurated by Md. Niaz Morshedul Haque, Assistant Professor and Head (Acting), Department of EEE, who warmly welcomed the newly admitted students to the EEE family. The event was attended by all faculty members of the department, highlighting their collective commitment to academic excellence and student success.

During the program, Rafiqul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, also addressed the students. The newly admitted students were further introduced to their Batch Advisor, Thonmoy Chowdhury Suhel, Lecturer, Department of EEE, who provided an overview of academic activities, departmental facilities, and student life.

History Created at LU EEE — Dr. Md. Thasfiquzzaman Becomes the First PhD Holder of the Department

The Department of EEE, Leading University expresses its heartfelt congratulations and profound appreciation to our distinguished alumnus Dr. Md. Thasfiquzzaman of the 8th Batch of EEE on the successful completion of his PhD from the University of Oulu, Finland.

His doctoral dissertation, titled “Advanced Synchrotron X-Ray-Based Characterization of Hydrated Magnesium Carbonates Complemented by Raman Spectroscopy,” represents a remarkable contribution to advanced scientific research and reflects his dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence. This prestigious achievement has undoubtedly brought immense honor and pride to the Department of EEE and to the entire Leading University family.

On the occasion of his recent visit to the Department of EEE, Dr. Thasfiquzzaman paid a courtesy visit to Md. Niaz Morshedul Haque, Assistant Professor & Head (Acting), Department of EEE, Leading University. During the visit, he exchanged greetings and shared valuable experiences with faculty members, juniors, and current students of the department. His inspiring academic journey and achievements were warmly appreciated by all present.

Unfortunately, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Leading University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Taj Uddin, was in Dhaka on official duty during the visit and therefore could not meet him in person. Subsequently, the Head of the Department shared Dr. Thasfiquzzaman’s dissertation with the Honorable Vice Chancellor, who conveyed his sincere congratulations, appreciation, and best wishes for Dr. Thasfiquzzaman’s continued success in his academic and research career.

Dr. Thasfiquzzaman’s accomplishment stands as a proud milestone for the Department of EEE and serves as a source of inspiration for current and future students of Leading University. His success reflects the growing academic and research potential of the university at the international level.

Sayem Miah, a member of the second batch of EEE, who has successfully completed his M.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. 🇩🇪

Adding to his remarkable academic achievements, Mr. Sayem Miah also served the department as an Adjunct Faculty Member from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the academic development of students with dedication and commitment. His journey reflects both academic excellence and a strong bond with his alma mater.

During his recent visit to the university, he paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. Mohammed Taj Uddin, Vice-Chancellor, Leading University, and Md.
